Permissions Overview

Select permissions in Salesforce will need to be granted to Salesforce Users that will either be (1) accessing and using Send360 in various roles (Sales Person, Marketing Admin, etc.) or - even if they won't be accessing Send360 - who will (2) benefit from seeing reporting data from the Send360 Orders and Send360 Mailers Custom Objects, or at our Send360 Mailers Related List (optionally shown on Leads/Contacts/Persons/Campaigns), or (3) who will be a single, special Salesforce User/seat that will function as the Send360 "Integration User".

Permissions Via User Profiles and/or Permission Sets

As most Salesforce Admins will know, permissions can be granted to SFDC Users in two ways via:

  • User Profiles - permissions can be granted at the User Profile level and thereby apply to all Users having that User Profile.
  • Permission Sets - permissions can be granted to individual Salesforce Users (irrespective of their User Profile) by creating a Permission Set then assigning that Permissions Set to individual Users.

Note that 5 preconfigured Permission Sets are included in our Managed Package install as shown below.

Most Send360 customers use Permission Sets where permissions need to be granted to a specific user one by one, but then assign permissions at the User Profile level when dozens, hundreds or even thousands of Users of varied profiles need permissions to access Send360. For example, you may use the Send360 Integration User Permission Set to directly enable just a single Salesforce User to support the integration, but then assign permissions to hundreds of sales people and/or dozens of marketing support people all at once via granting permissions on their common Salesforce User Profiles.

Next, continue to the detailed information on each Permission Set below, where each page fully details all permissions granted per Permission Set. Use each Permission Set's detailed listing of permissions to also guide your application of permissions at the User Profile level.

Note that as a best practice, we recommend you CLONE Send360's provided permission sets and rename them to your company (ex: "ACME/Send360 Integration User") and apply the cloned Permission set to your users. Since you can't modify the Permission Sets from our Managed Package, this will allow you to refine and iterate with your cloned sets flexibly.

You may continue below to a detailed view of each provided Send360 Permission Set:

  1. 1-to-1 User Permission Set
  2. Full Site User Permission Set
  3. Integration User Permission Set
  4. User API Feed Permission Set
  5. Reports Only Permission Set
