The Big Picture - Overview Diagram of Integrated Approval Process
The below diagram provides a high level overview of the various steps and functions for Send360's INTEGRATED approval process with Salesforce. Key considerations are noted below the diagram.
Within the high level process illustrated above, key considerations include:
- A picklist of Approval Process NAMES are defined in Send360 directly, displayed as a picklist to Send360 Template admins when editing templates. Normally a Template's Approval Process will be set to "None", but for select templates an Approval Process will be selected.
- It's important for Salesforce Admins to know the exact values on this picklist in Send360. The "Approval Process" Name will be synched into the Send360 Order custom object in Salesforce in that objects "Approval Process" field (a text field). In this tutorial we'll imagine your organization has 2 Approval Process names defined in Send360 of "Marketing Department" and "Legal Department". When an order synchs from Send360 to our Salesforce custom object, you would thus be keying your automations off that "Approval Process" name from Send360 to decide which Salesforce Approval Workflow is triggered.
- So, again, talk with Send360 to confirm the picklist of Approval Processes (the names) which is configured outside Salesforce and in Send360, and before you build out the automations that follow.
